The kids, learning how one prays in these kind of church buildings!
Homeward bound...
Astonishing findings in our Butter bean plant pods... we thought they'd shrivelled and died and not come to anything... but they have! Wow! And all that from a science experiment!
Our first caterpillar find of the year! Or, as Bubbles calls it... a mothapillar! This caterpillar is of the Buff-tip Moth.
A very quiet week this week... recovering from our journeying up north!
We did manage this though...
Another trip to Birmingham (due to our photos being corrupted last time we went!)... some of the flower displays in the street...
Arriving at 'Menorca' !!
Bubbles set out to try and re-create her Sylvanian creation from last time... but she was up against a lot of chaos this time and many passing feet... so it wasn't quiet the master-piece it was the first time, but I think it worked well...
Teeny tiny sandcastles!
Icecream... just one of those things you *have* to have when at the beach!
Some impressive looking buildings in Birmingham... behind the top one was the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, which we also had a look around.
A treat... we wanted to find a bowling alley, and found one, BowlXtreme in Worcester, so not far to go and it was really quite a nice place and we had lots of fun (and food!... oh dear... they were very generous with their portions, we really didn't need so much!)!
Lunchtime snack at the Gyle... then to the Disney store... then on through to 'the west'...
Cousins... not a great photo... but then it was more of a knee-jerk reaction something like 'Arghh... they're sitting together... where's the camera?' click...
Day Four... after seeing more special friends (no photo :o( ), Aunt Jill treated us to an outing to an event at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh... so we waited for a bus...
A quick click of the Castle...
Couldn't get the camera to co-operate with a nice pic of the ticket, so a blurred one will have to surfice! It was a lovely event. I knew Bubbles would enjoy it... never sure how Spike it going to take to something - but he thoroughly enjoyed it too, and joined in very well, I was very proud of him.
Day Five... rain! A trip out to the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena... for a midday snack... and the fun of watching folk climb up the walls! Bubbles said she'd like to do that one day, so she's decided she needs to strengthen her arms and legs in preparation!
In the car... on the way to...
Ikea of course! It's a bit further to go to our 'local' Ikea now... I had a letter through from them saying I'd only made one trip to them in the past 2 months... I guess that's what happens when you have further to travel!
Day Six... we took a Day Ticket on the bus, and headed for Ocean Terminal... looked out at the Royal Yacht Britannia (but didn't go on it), and paid a visit to Build-a-Bear Workshop...
... then Bubbles and I spent a pleasant hour in The Ceramic Experience, while Spike and Aunt Jill enjoyed a ride around town on the buses...
A quick peek inside a mock-up of the new Edinburgh trams... pretty much like a bus really...
Then on to see another Fringe Festival performace called Baxterbear, at the very posh Caledonian Hotel... that is Baxter that Bubbles is standing with... fortunately he didn't come upstairs for the performance, otherwise it might have been a disaster with Spike - who certainly does not trust any large characters like that!
This is what it did the moment we stepped on the bus for home... rain! So glad it waited till we were sitting comfortably!
Day Seven... a short walk down the Water of Leith... then to the Water of Leith Visitor Centre... very interesting...then on the bus again with our Day Tickets...
... to Portobello Beach! It wasn't overly warm... but the sun did come out... and the kids had fun!...
The kids toy cars seem to follow us wherever we go!
Back down to Ocean Terminal to pick up Bubbles and my Ceramic masterpieces (hmmm... no picture for showing!)... then some fun... can you see the kids 'diving' in the fish bowl?!
Light refreshments in the open air... with courtesy gull in attendance...
Back on the Mock Tram again... the kids were very taken with it! They got to sit in the cab this time. I asked the lady on duty inside if they had started making the trams yet... 'o yes, we've made 7already' ... and where are they being made?... Spain! I REALLY wanted her to say in GB
On the bus back to the flat.
Day Eight... South Queensferry, in search of more friends!... and a look at the view...
Then a stroll along the front at Crammond... with obligatory icecream thrown in!...
... and aeroplanes not far above one's head, coming in to land at Edinburgh Airport.
Final day... In search of more special friends on our way home... Bubbles with the tiniest friend! Thanks for having us Ing... we miss yous a lot!
