Weekly round-up

Another week passes... the last of January...

... to the Library (well, our one is called a 'brary' it seems!!).. apparantly the doors have been changed, but once something has been changed I can never seem to remember how it looked before... looks the same to me!

... ants finally installed in Spike's Christmas present... they're not doing what they're supposed to yet, but I guess it takes even the best of us a while to get used to new surroundings and a new home!

... a bit of spring and summer side-by-side... yes, we are longing for these...

... boredom busting...
... and the end products...

... Home Ed group met in Tewkesbury this week, so we decided to look around the place too... brrr... it was very cold!
... The Abbey... lovely...
... interesting sculpture outside the Abbey...

... with the Home Ed group we visited Out of the Hat... we learnt a bit about the Tudors, did some craft, and looked around the place...

... more boredom busting... not sure why these feelings this week... the weather maybe?

... History Club at Hartlebuy... learning to prune Apple trees... it was verrrry cold... but we were all treated to cups of hot chocolate afterward to warm us up!

Aww....

Awww... seems my darling daughter has hacked into my Blog! Very sweet of her though! Thanks Bubs xx

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY, Monday 25th January 2010...

Outside my window... clear blue sky, gentle breeze in the trees, birds on the feeders, green grass...

I am thinking... that is surely can't be Monday again... ALREADY?!... and how come I am managing to get on the computer in the day time anyhow?!...

I am Remembering... how it felt when we moved here a year ago...

I am thankful for... the sunshine...

From the learning rooms... Bible study; The 3 Rs; History - Noah & the flood, the Ice Age & dinosaurs; Science - the Earth's history & Human cells, tissues & organs; Geography (through art) - Italy again, and Roman concrete; Literature - various choices; Fine Art - Music: Haydn, Art: John Singer Sargent, Poetry: selection; Natural History - outside time; Language - Muzzy

From the kitchen... today, Baked Potatoes, tuna or cheese, salad; tuesday, Chicken Curry, rice, veg; wednesday, pasta, tomato sauce, veg; thursday, spag bol, veg; friday, tinned spag & sausages (for the kids anyway... think I'll have something different - bubble & squeak maybe... but mine is more like 'compote-of-romania' with all sorts of leftover veg thrown in the pan!); saturday, leftovers; sunday, frozen food of choice

I am wearing... old faithful denim skirt, blue shirt, fleece... yea, I know I'm a fashion disaster but, hey, I'd rather wear something comfy!...

I am creating... lots of thoughts about things to make and do!...

I am going... to get my Bookkeeping Mock Exam finished this week and submitted... if only one could be so blase about the actual exam!

I am reading... Romans...

I am hoping... I can sleep a bit better this week...

I am hearing... Spike on the computer, Bubs humming, clock ticking

Around the house... is definitely looking like it's nearly spring and time for a good clean!

One of my favorite things... Horlicks at bedtime...

A few plans for the rest of the week... a reasonably quiet week; Home Ed group at Tewkesbury...

A Scripture...
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes..." Romans 1:16 (NASB)

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Weekly round-up

A quiet week... though, stick a few pics up and it looks like we've done loads! Our first 'full' week back at the books, so we're tired; and the weather didn't lend itself to encouraging us to get out, so we've done a lot of home activities...

... found the Muzzy page on Facebook... entered a competition... won it! Wow! ... that just *never* normally happens to me!... so, we won these fab Muzzy finger puppets... they are the largest finger puppets I've ever seen! very good quality...

... we're still enjoying the Geography Through Art book, which we've been slowly working through for quite some time now... this week we were in Italy... painting pictures on the ceiling of our very own Sistine Chapels (coffee tables!), just like Michelangelo...! it was fun... Spike ended up with quite a lot of paint on his face! Bubs fared a bit better!

... I had a bit of an 'organising' bug this week (I'm over it now though!)... have changed some areas of the house around ... finally managed to get the area by the stairs looking less cluttered, and have turned it into a sort of 'reading corner'...

... ah, Pizza Hut! ... a friend reminded me about this fab 50% off voucher, so we treated ourselves this week... haven't been to Pizza Hut in ages... makes a nice change from McDonalds, but usually not compatible with the budget... (by the way, the Money Saving Expert e-mail is well worth receiving, lots of good hints/tips for saving money)

... trying to look like scientists!... digging out the Chemistry set... need to get some new supplies...

... visiting cousin T for is birthday... 2!

... fun at the park with friends... a nice way to spend a Saturday morning...

... church cleaning...

... 2 Wii games we're enjoying at the moment...
