... a visit to a small cheese factory, with a tour - they said they are probably pushing the bounds of health and safety (but I'm pleased to say none of us sneezed or coughed near the cheeses!) but I'm so glad they are as it's so fascinating to get to see these kind of processes, and for the kids to watch! In our sterile world there's little you can actually watch being done without scrubbing up and donning another layer of clothing!
... another visit to Croft Castle... and some wonderful old trees and a magnificent view...
... woohoo! finished bag *at last*! Good to be crafting again...
... final certificate through... SO thankful... done with the studying after a year and a bit, and I *really* don't want to have to go through exams ever ever again!!
... holiday time! off to Whitchurch in Shropshire and a wonderful Aunt...
... Whitchurch Heritage Centre... a small place, but such a lot of lovely activities for the kids, and a lot to learn about the local history... fascinating...
... Marbury Flower Festival... absolutely beautiful and enjoyed by us all (even Spike!)... I'd love to be able to arrange flowers...
... al fresco meals...
... Cheshire Candleworks... we watched candle carving, and Bubs had a go at making her own candle... "in the wax, out the wax, drip drip drip... in the wax, out the wax, drip drip drip..." - she was chanting this for most of the day! Isn't it a lovely candle though?
... fields and fields and fields and fields of maize! never seen so much maize in my life - I guess this side of the country is good for growing it!
... The Icecream Farm! O yes! What a find... a one-scoop icecream actually consists of at least TWO generous scoops... yum! The hard part was choosing the flavour from the long long list! - well, except for our Spike who always chooses chocolate!
... we can always manage to find play parks wherever we go!...
... watching boats at the Lochside cafe by the local Canal... fascinating...
... a visit to Erdigg (pronounced ErTHigg - it's in Wales!)... what a lovely place! Couldn't take picutures inside, so that's pics of postcards... my most favourite thing was the old shower! Servants climbed to the top and continuously poured water in the top while the lady or gentleman stood below showering!
... we stopped by a lake for a cuppa in the car in the rain... these brave ducklings were fascinated by a puddle under a car next to us... they weren't at all bothered with the big lake!
... Nantwich museum... small but fascinating... and Bubs got to do a little archaeological activity session, while Spike and Aunt J did two trails around the museum...
... no holiday is complete without a trip to a LARGE garden centre!!...
... and a sample of the local cheese - Windsor Chesire cheese.
