Snapshot of our week

I don't really recall much about the week! The blog has been good for me, helping me to take note of our 'doings' in each week, but I've not managed to get back into the habit of writing things up again yet, so time just passes in a blur. Anyway, photos help me remember a little of what we've done, so I'll try and sift through them to jog my memory!

We had our first 'family' meal at mum and dad's in the new sunlounge, to start the week off. It was lovely... Mum and Dad, me, Bubbles, Spike, K (lives with my brother and s-i-l), s-i-l Anne, brother Paul and baby T. A good time was had by all.

Bubbles did a proper canvas painting this week, using acrylics and enjoyed it a lot. We've a great shop here called The Range, and it has a super art secion where we managed to find these great display easels, and the canvas.

Stephen arrived on Tuesday just after 10am and we picked him up from Tesco. It wasn't his birthday until Wednesday, but we had prepared a cake for him (Spike had baked it the previous week, and the design was his request!) and we had it on the Tuesday, knowing that we were going out for a meal on Wednesday. It was very tasty... but knowing he is not best fond of sweet things, we packaged it up and gave most of it away to family, as I didn't want to have the task of having to eat it all up! Stephen and Bubbles tried out the local cinema to watch the Disney movie Bolt.

Wednesday the roofing work was finished - yay (pictures about that elsewhere). In the evening we went out to Pizza Hut for Stephen's birthday. Haven't had a meal there for a while and it was very tasty! Spike had his own pizza off the kids menu, but Bubbles shared a huge stuffed crust pizza with Stephen and I.

And the icecream dessert is always a winner for the kids (adults too full for afters!)... add your own toppings... guess who had which?

Thursday, in the morning we walked into town to the market for a browse and to Clarks for a pair of shoes for Spike. In the afternoon the Scaffolders came and took away the scaffold and increased the amount of light into the house! It's great to have the house back to normal. Scaffold is very intriguing! It is very precise. It took them 4 hours to put the scaffold up two weeks ago, and 2.5 hours to take it all down.


Friday was a chance for a tidy up, and Stephen set to cleaning the slabs and monoblock with a pressure washer, and started to prune the shrubs and trees around the garden.
