Weekly round-up
Despite not feeling well this week, we do seem to have had to do an awful lot of running around, doing errands... I guess needs must...
We went to WHSmith in town for Bubbles to spend her book voucher that she got as a prize on the last day of school. She got quite a few books, of which I don't seem to have a picture. Whilst there, Spike decided to use his money to get a book with Transformers masks in... we made up the Bumblebee one, and the above images are of the kids trying it on.
On Thursday we had our first visit from the LEA to talk about our Home schooling... they were very nice people and very interested in what we did and keen to help in any helpful way they could! It was a pleasant experience, and they said we were doing so very well in all that we are doing and to keep up the good work. Very grateful to the Lord for that. SO, we decided to go to Pizza Hut for lunch to celebrate. Haven't been for a while, so it was a nice treat.
Bubbles helped me to do a lot of scrapbooking this week... me being me, decided that I needed to do it from the beginning of the year, rather than where we are at right now, so I sent for 6 months worth of photos (a selection of what we've done from each month, many of the images are here on the blog) and we got busy sticking them in a scrapbook... it's really nice to be able to look at the photos this way... whilst I love the freedom of digital photos... they tend to all be on CDs and not many actually for holding and seeing... it IS nice to be able to leaf through a photo album and look at the photos... and the kids are delighted with the finished product thus far... it has helped them to remember all the things we've done since we moved here in January... and we'll add to it each month.
Last History Club at Hartlebury Castle, for the term, on Saturday... it was very interesting... we had the resident archaeologist show us around the castle and tell us all about it... that is, take us around the bits that haven't been open previously to the public and more... part of the castle has been the Bishop of Worcester's house (the rest, the County Museum)... but having now moved out, part of it is open to the public whilst a bid is put in to buy the place. We saw the Great Hall, Saloon, Chapel, Library and living quarters... and for the very brave, a chance to go on the roof and get a great view of the old moat and more (Bubbles was the only one of us 3 brave enough to go out!).
