Cease Striving...

I was reading Psalm 46 in my NASB and verse 10 reads thus "Cease Striving and know that I am God..." (empahsis mine). I'm more used to the translation "Be still..."... and I know I'm hopeless at being still, but even more so at ceasing to strive it would seem. It's really helped me to understand more about being still... I CAN be still, sitting quietly reading my Bible, and yet still striving in my mind over something... can I REALLY know the sovreignty of God while I'M still in the equation? I don't think so; and how can I really know that God is truly God if I won't let Him be! "Cease striving..."
